For too long, the same politicians have been running city hall while residents have been left asking a simple question: is this the best city that Mississauga can be?
Crime is becoming a growing concern in Mississauga. Car thefts, home invasions, violent crime and dangerous driving are affecting our neighbourhoods, while residents are paying the price through stolen property, higher insurance costs and the stress of wondering whether their families and communities are safe.
As Mayor, Alvin will bring action and accountability on crime to the Region of Peel, and get Mississauga City Hall back to the business of protecting the people who live here.
Residents shouldn’t have to accept rising crime as the status quo. City Hall should be focused on the things that matter in your daily life: your home, your neighbourhood and your family.

Give Police the Resources They Need
Mississauga deserves its fair share of policing resources. Alvin will work to put more officers on the ground, modernize policing tools and make sure Mississauga has a strong voice when decisions about policing are made.

Take a Smarter Approach to Crime
We cannot keep doing things the same way and expect different results. Alvin will bring new ideas and modern technology to law enforcement, freeing up police officers to focus on serious crime while making better use of taxpayer dollars.

Fight Auto Theft Before It Happens
Car theft has become a fact of life for too many Mississauga families. Alvin will take a proactive approach to stopping auto theft, using data to prevent crime, giving residents better tools to protect their vehicles and supporting Canadian innovation in vehicle security.

Make Every Neighbourhood Safer
Safety starts close to home. Alvin will give residents a stronger voice in local safety decisions and create a dedicated City Safety Division to bring together the City, police and community partners to address problems in neighbourhoods, school zones, plazas, public spaces and places of worship.
Mississauga’s legacy mayors are committed to maintaining the status quo in terms of their response to community safety. Alvin will bring a different approach based on practical ideas and accountability focused on making Mississauga safer.
