Mississauga needs a new mayor with a plan to fix traffic, improve transit and connect our communities.
Mississauga is growing, but getting around our city is still too difficult.
Residents lose valuable time sitting in traffic. Transit trips across the city can take too long, often forcing riders through major hubs or multiple transfers just to get where they need to go. This is driving more car dependency, and eroding trust in our transit system.
For too long, transit planning has been built around traditional commuting patterns instead of the people who rely on transit every day. Students travelling to class, seniors attending appointments, shift workers heading to work before sunrise and residents going out in the evening all need service they can count on.
A transit system that works only for a nine-to-five commute does not work for everyone.
And residents cannot afford to wait years for lofty infrastructure projects while preventable traffic bottlenecks and unreliable connections make everyday travel harder.
Mississauga needs practical improvements now and a clear plan for the future. That means fixing the intersections that cause the most congestion, making bus routes more direct, expanding service when people need it and fighting for the regional transit investments our city has been missing.
As Mayor, Alvin will focus on solutions residents can see today while building a faster, better-connected Mississauga for the future.

Fix Traffic Bottlenecks Now
Residents should not have to wait years for relief from the intersections that make their daily trips longer and less predictable.
Alvin will prioritize Mississauga’s worst traffic bottlenecks, identify the causes of congestion and deliver targeted improvements to help keep traffic moving.
This includes holding Metrolinx accountable for the Hurontario LRT which has been delayed for years, created the worst congestion on Mississauga's most important north-south corridor, and harmed the residential and business communities caught in the middle.

Build Transit Around Riders
Alvin will focus on making MiWay more direct, dependable and convenient, with improvements that can begin before major infrastructure projects are complete. His plan is to introduce cross-city express routes with fewer stops, expand late-night and off-peak transit access, and extend transit service to high traffic neighbourhoods that are underserved by today’s transit system.
Alvin would fight to deliver the long-promised two-way, all-day GO service, and explore further GO service to Brampton and Caledon.

Build the Next Generation of Rapid Transit
Better bus routes can improve transit today, but Mississauga also needs a long-term plan to move more people quickly across the city.
Dedicated-lane Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) can help buses bypass congestion, improve reliability and connect neighbourhoods with jobs, schools, shopping and regional transit.
Alvin will advance planning for five priority BRT corridors to build a more connected transit network across Mississauga. This network includes: Erin Mills, Dundas West, Derry Road, Dixie Road, and Lakeshore Road.
A City That Moves on Your Schedule
Mississauga should be a city where people can get to work without losing hours in traffic, where students can get to class, where seniors can attend appointments reliably, and where shift workers can get home during off-peak hours.
Residents should be able to travel between neighbourhoods without unnecessary transfers, and better regional connections will open up more jobs, services and opportunities.
As Mayor, Alvin will focus on fixing the worst traffic bottlenecks, building more useful bus routes, expanding transit beyond the traditional commuter schedule and fighting for the rapid transit and GO investments Mississauga needs.
The goal is simple: less time stuck in traffic, better connections across our city and a transit system that we can count on.
